Get you some egg laying Yard Birds (Chic-Chic-Chickennnn!!!)
Plant some mater plants, yellow crook neck squash, some onions. Crack open and beat up a few FRESH eggs. Slice up your green maters,yellow crook neck squash, your onions. now lay them all over in the eggs, the eggs make the batter stick better, mix you up some corn meal, pancake flour, spices of your choice, I like Italian Seasoning or Cajun but not both, some garlic powder, butter milk an the left over eggs, use more buttermilk than eggs, mix real well into a real thick paste, now take the maters, squash, onions out of the eggs and roll around in the batter. Use about a 50/50 mixture of bacon drippings good quality cooking oil about 1/2 inch deep in a large cast iron skillet, get hot and now deep fry the maters, squash and onions, or just use a little oil in the bottom of the skillet and stir fry. If you are on a low or free fat/cholesterol diet, you can use a Hot Air Convection Cooker like I have and not use the bacon Drippings and oil, it is still good but you will sacrifice some flavor here.
Now while at the store if you can find them buy some Crayfish Steamed Cajun Style, if no Crayfish get Shrimp and some Crab make a Garden Salad, with Crayfish, Shrimp and or Crab add Shredded Cheese, Green Olives, Chopped boiled Egg, Cucumber, Chopped Ham, Red Tomatoes , Peppers if you like them, and believe it or not a little bit of chopped pineapple and a few raisens.
Cold Beverage of your Choice and you have a Lip Smacking Feast Here. Adjust ingredients for the people you are feeding. Just for 2 people it takes very little of each one.
With this meal, very little is needed from the store, most is grown right at home. A few ingredients from your Home Grown Brownies mixed with your salad, you will have a Great Evening =D

Your own Herb garden, a creek to get Crayfish from or Fresh Blue Gill from, Home made buttermilk, a few Lemons, will make this even better, the less you have to get from the store, the better and better this gets. One year I had my own garden, me and my grandson went Blue Gill fishing, got Cray Fish, and my Neighbor gave me the eggs and we Pigged out for 2 days
